ACCSC101 - Fulfilling the Standards of Accreditation: Administration

This course “pulls back the curtain” for schools to help them better understand the principles and purposes of the ACCSC Standards of Accreditation. ACCSC101, along with the accompanying course ACCSC102, lays out the standards in line with the way schools are typically structured to better help you comprehend the important relationship between each standard and each aspect of running a compliant, accredited school. This course addresses the standards on the “administrative” side of your school, such as standards that relate to operations, admissions, and financial aid.



Module 1: Demystifying Accreditation

  • Differentiate between a “good” school and a high-performing accredited school.
  • Recognize the most common areas of non-compliance found during onsite evaluations of schools.
  • Identify common challenges found in response to the Commission directives.
  • Identify critical personnel who should be involved in the accreditation process.
  • Identify some of the best practices when responding to questions from accreditors about a school’s compliance with requirements and standards.

Module 2: Administration, Operations, and Facility

  • Identify appropriate management qualifications and determine that the school has adequate administrative capacity.
  • Identify the required policies and procedures and ongoing development with respect to school administration.
  • Recognize the necessary points for the school’s institutional assessment and improvement.
  • Identify the physical requirements for your school.
  • Differentiate between various types of recognized ACCSC separate facilities, such as branch campuses and satellite locations.

Module 3: Admissions and Recruiting

  • Identify the required disclosures in the areas of admissions and recruitment.
  • Identify the explicit standards regarding acceptable marketing, recruitment, and admission practices.
  • Recognize methods of required training and evaluation of individuals who recruit for an ACCSC school.
  • Identify the methods to determine that admissions criteria have been met by all applicants prior to enrollment.

Module 4: Financial Aid and Accounting

  • Identify the required documentation, policies and procedures for financial aid processing and record keeping.
  • Identify the required documentation, policies and procedures for validating the financial soundness of your school.
  • Recognize the additional requirements and responsibilities of schools which utilize Department of Education Title IV funds.
